We started off with another foggy morning . . .

but I found a jewel in amongst my dark purple and yellow irises . . .

a pretty pale lavender iris! Just beautiful!

And Dave wanted me to test drive the Jeep, after he'd put brakes and rotors on last night, so I took a few side trips and captured some pretty wildflowers along the roadside, before I had to . . .

get back to work. At least I'm making progress in my temporary scrap space!

May 6, 2009

I was a little bit of a bum today. Not that I didn't have plenty to do . . . just that I didn't get my mind wrapped around anything concrete. So I ended up piddling around a little here, and little there, and a little in my soon to be temporary scrap space . . .

and then we moved on to T-ball practise.

I would have loved to get more pictures of the ball player . . .

but some little stinker was acting up. It must be tough to be two.

On a good note, though . . . the SUN finally came out this afternoon. The first time all month. Hope it makes another appearance tomorrow!

May 5, 2009

Another whirlwind day! Finished up my to-do list from yesterday AND today, and I think I'm back in my groove.

Glad I got everything caught up before Bayleigh got off the bus . . .

As soon as she gets home from school, her and Eli hug all over each other and then proceed to turn into little monsters, with their bickering and fighting.

Ahhhh, the joys of motherhood!

Monday's are ALWAYS my busy days . . . bedding to wash, trash to take out, litter boxes to clean, the chicks pen to clean, vacuuming all the floors, plus the regular chores like dishes and laundry, and picking up. This Monday was no exception. On top of the regular craziness . . .

I had the added task of reserving a space for our church picnic on Saturday, and contacting everyone with the details (directions and such) . . . AND I had been putting off the grocery shopping for over a week. It just couldn't wait any longer . . .

I mean . . . we had cookies, but NO MILK! We were in pretty bad shape! However, I'm proud to say that I didn't step foot in Wal-Mart for over a month! Except that time, last weekend when I had to go in and buy straps to secure my new sofa, that I purchased at a yard sale . . .

Wish I could say that I had time to stop in one of my favorite antique shops after our grocery excursion . . . but alas, I only had a few moments to snap a few shots and head on home. I'll save that little side stop for NEXT TIME . . .

May 3, 2009

Sunday is definitely a day of rest around here . . .

We all laid down on the couch, popped in Rack, Shack and Benny . . .

and dozed off. Luckily I woke up first, and no one got any pics of me snoozing!

May 2, 2009

We all slept in a little this morning (thank goodness!), and then the thought of all I had to get done today, started sinking in. So I jumped in and fixed breakfast, did some dishes and folded some more laundry . . . then I re-purposed some of the kids winter duds, by cutting the legs and the sleeves out of them . . . the scraps can be used for any multitude of things, later . . .

The kids were fighting the morning . . .

and made this nice little sign for her door. "No! This means you, Eli!" After they finished squabbling, and we took our shower; we headed off to the school carnival with grandma . . .

Bayleigh made three baskets in a row . . .

and Eli was just there for pure comedy relief. I just didn't think it was fair for the oldest to get to have ALL the fun . . .

and as difficult as it is to wrangle to kids around a carnival, I'm glad we ended up going and that the kids had so much fun. I think I need a nap now!

May 1, 2009

We woke up to a thick layer of misty fog. The sun tried it's best to break through it all . . .

but it was a pretty tough fight. The fog . . .

and later on, the clouds, obscured it for the rest of the day.

So that means that it was a pretty productive day indoors. I touch up cleaned the 3 bathrooms, 2 kids' rooms, the kitchen and the living room . . . and then got my dear sweet hubby to go through three piles of clothes! YIPPEE! He's just got a few more piles to go, and it's looking like we're going to have one heck of a huge yard sale this summer. Soon . . . very soon. I can't stand all this STUFF bagged and boxed up and taking up much needed real estate.
