October 17, 2009

I was really hoping to sleep in a little this morning, since I was up late last night, however Dave's phone alarm woke me up and I had to walk all the way through the house to shut it off, so I just ended up staying up.

He took Bayleigh turkey hunting with him this morning. They didn't see anything, but Bayleigh came back with a few "treasures" and a big grin.

I puttered around doing housework . . . and Bayleigh busied herself reading a story to Eli.

I'm so proud of her! She's learned lots of new words this year, and it surprises me how many big words she can sound out now. It won't be much longer and she'll be reading her bedtime stories HERSELF!

We went from another gloomy, cloudy day, to a smattering of rain, and then joy of joys . . . the sun made an appearance this afternoon!

I believe this is the first time I've seen the sun in almost a WEEK! It's amazing what a little sunshine can do to alter your mood.

I was feeling horribly unmotivated again this morning, but I actually accomplished quite a bit today. Two loads of dishes, three loads of laundry, a little touch up cleaning here, a little touch up cleaning there . . .

And I even managed to go upstairs to sort and purge more stuff from the spare bedroom. I can now ALMOST get the door completely open in there! So much stuff to throw away, give away and put in the Scrap Nook Garage Sale at the end of the month! I don't believe there are enough hours in the day!

I spent the morning looking up music on YouTube for a post over on my other blog.

I also ended up taking a few "still life" shots . . .

I'm struggling with housecleaning motivation right now . . . and Blogger isn't helping,

as it's not wanting to upload my photos. I feel like I wasted the good portion of the day and hours off of my life trying to get Blogger to upload ONE photo. Maybe I can get caught up later in the week. And I hope motivation strikes me soon!

It looks like today is another layout day . . .

Sorry about that . . . I'm simply exhausted! I've been trying to catch up on emails, facebook and blogs today. Tomorrow will be better!

October 13, 2009

I'm afraid this is another one of those days, where all I snapped was my daily LOAD layout.

Dave's folks left late morning and I just vegetated for the afternoon. All that company seems to take it out of me. Seems like life has been a little hectic lately, and I'm still recuperating from our trip to Michigan last month.
I'm enjoying LOAD, but I'm wondering if I would have been better off, letting it go this time around, and getting caught up, before my official Fall/Winter cleaning begins on November 1. Ah well . . . I wouldn't fully be embracing life, if I didn't have a ton to do. Right?

October 12, 2009

I was hoping to get a shot of Bayleigh with an "excited" look on her face for the I "Heart" Faces challenge today, but this is what I got . . .

After she headed off to school, Dave and Eli made biscuits while grandpa supervised . . .

and I ran through my daily tasks of laundry, washing the bedding, and cleaning the bedrooms.

I took some time this evening to take some photos of my faithful old dog. Ike has been with us since 1995, and he's getting up in years. Although he still has the mind of an 18 year old, his body has started failing him. He has arthritis in his hips and at times, it's extremely difficult for him to get up.

The past few months I've started supplementing his diet with Glucosamine (for dogs) and Aspirin. This seems to be helping, but I'm not sure how long it will be effective. I'm hoping he stays comfortably able for a little longer. I'm just not willing to let him go yet.

October 11, 2009

After church, we came home just in time to help grandma make rolls . . .

and put the homemade noodles in to cook.

Bayleigh made a little sashay outside while we were waiting for the rolls to bake, and found this adorable (ahem) little guy.

After she put him back outside, and washed her hands thoroughly, we all had a wonderful lunch and a fun-filled afternoon.
