Sick kids and another crazy day. I'm glad for a chance to fix something quick that is mmm, mmm good!

December 12, 2008

Today I got out the wrapping paper . . .

and wrapped a few presents to go under the tree.

I hate to end on a sad note . . . but my camera is officially D.R.T. (Dead Right There). While I snuck out to put wood in the stove and feed the dogs, my little guy got ahold of my camera and damaged the card port. Looks like I'll be sending it in for repairs and using my little Nikon point and shoot for a while. *sigh* I'm going to miss my "baby".

December 11, 2008

I've decided that I like to play with my shadow, and this was too good an opportunity to pass up! Sorry . . . I'm just throwing this one in here.

And I FINALLY pulled out the Christmas decorations . . .

This is really the first year that Eli has got to participate in decorating the tree, and it was rather precious.

Of course he had lots of assistance from daddy and big sissy . . .

and hopefully we'll get the rest of the decorating done this weekend!

December 10, 2008

Dave had a Christmas party at his workplace this evening. So we piled into the Jeep . . .

enjoyed the party . . .

and then headed off to the park to look at the Christmas lights.

I couldn't resist playing with the settings on my camera, and seeing what types of effects I could get from doing strange things with my camera. The top photo is a reflection off the pond. I think you can even see a few ducks/geese floating in the water.

And with this one, we were just going at a very slow speed across the lighted bridge. I like the blurred motion in this one.

Sometimes it's just nice to take a few moments to play.

December 9, 2009

I started off with too little sleep this morning. When Bayleigh got home, and I'd found that she'd taken a pair of scissors to her pants . . . I'm afraid I lost my temper.

She's always complaining that she doesn't want to wear her jeans to school (she'd rather wear jogging pants), and then she ended up cutting up a perfectly good pair of athletic pants (which she'd only worn a total of two times). So I believe the little girl will be wearing jeans the rest of the week.

I'm hoping for a decent night's sleep tonight, and a little more patience in the morning.

December 8, 2008

We're glad to see daddy when he gets home from clinicals. We'll be SO glad when he's finally done with school.

After another very busy day of housework and working on the addition, there's nothing like a root beer float and a little blogging to end the evening.

Better than Christmas!

A few summers ago, I stumbled across a little girl's dream of the perfect yard sale. Barbie paraphernalia everywhere . . .

Of course, Bayleigh just went into raptures . . . so I ended up picking up the house and recreational vehicle for $5.00. And the other misc. stuff for next to nothing. She played with it all for HOURS on end . . . but after observing her playing a little roughly with things, I put it all in an old steamer trunk upstairs, along with my own Barbie stuff, from when I was a girl.

Now that we're getting things moved around to transfer into the addition, Bayleigh has been bugging me to death, wanting to play with her Barbies. So I finally gave in . . .

And while both kids were tremendously enjoying themselves, I got to thinking . . . this is just as good as Christmas . . . only cheaper!
