Today I'm thankful for the freedom that I enjoy, and for those who fight to maintain that freedom. There are no words of gratitude to express how thankful I am for those who risk their lives, so that others can enjoy the freedoms that our country maintains.
I got up early and prepared everything for church and Sunday School, then I got the kids up, dressed and ready to go. After we got home from church, I fixed lunch and dove into some of the housework that I've neglected over the past few days.
When the kids finished up eating lunch, I tried to get them both to lay down and take a nap, but Eli was way to squirmy, so he just kicked and prodded me while I read a book. I finally got him down for a nap late in the afternoon.
Dave wasn't feeling well all day, but his fever finally broke this afternoon and he took the kids into town to pick up a few fireworks.
They had a great time playing with the sparklers after supper, and my mom came over to watch them play.
Tomorrow is going to be a busy day of getting the house back into some form of order, from the crazy weekend. I swear I could work around the clock and never get it all done. It's a vicious cycle, but I'm hoping to give more responsibility to the kids this summer, so I can lighten the load. We'll see how that works out . . .
Must get some sleep tonight. Tomorrow it's back to the treadmill . . . and the housework.
Hope Dave is feeling much better now.
ReplyDeleteThat's an amazing display of fireworks, did you use a tripod?
Also saw the fireworks photos of the past days. I'll have to admit that I'm really impressed.
Hope you had a wonderful day!?
Dave is much better! (THANKS!) It must have been a 24 hour bug of some type, because he headed out to work the following day.
ReplyDeleteNo tripod (still too lazy to drag it out and set it up), but I managed to get a few good photos out of the bunch I took. ;)
