March 11, 2010

Today I am thankful that I was able to accomplish several small tasks on zero to very little sleep.  Last night I got Eli to bed around 10:00 p.m. (which is pretty early for him), and I thought I'd settle in for a good night's sleep.  Dave called at 10:30 p.m. when he got out of clinicals and talked all the way home.  He made it in about 11:30.  Then Eli snuck into bed sometime right after midnight and gritted his teeth while he slept.  (UGH!)  At approximately 2:36 a.m. my alarm went off.  (Eli had been messing with it and must have reset my alarm.)  I shut it off thinking it was already time to get up, and then I accidentally dozed off; only to jerk awake at 3:45 a.m. thinking that I'd overslept.  (*I HATE when that happens! lol)  I didn't sleep much after that, afraid that I truly WOULD oversleep, so I finally just got up at my regular 5:00 a.m. and sat on the couch staring out the window until the sun came up.

I managed to get Bayleigh ready for school, a few loads of laundry completed, and then I dug into my tax paper work to put the finishing touches on things and double check my figures.  It took me FOREVER to check and double check all my figures, but it's finally complete!  I'm ready to meet with the tax lady on Monday!

I tried to lay down with Eli after lunch, but the phone rang. I figure I must not be meant to sleep in this lifetime.  So I just got up and spot cleaned in my retreat.  I re-arranged some of my stickers to hang on my little curtain rod, and sorted one ring by topic and one ring by season.  I really need to "focus" on using up some of these stickers and I'm hoping that having them out where they are easily accessible will help me do this.

I didn't get around to taking many photos today, but I DID use up some leftovers in the fridge, by adding them to tonight's meatloaf dinner.  Lipton Beef Rice with peas is pretty good in meatloaf and I must say this is my best meatloaf yet.  I'll have to experiment with leftovers more often!

I'm hoping to get everyone to bed for a full night's sleep tonight.  Do you think I'm asking too much?

  1. Hope you get the sleep you need, because being a mom is no easy job at all. Wish you all the strength in the world.
