March 21, 2010

Today I'm thankful for motivation.  I woke up to a cold, dreary day;

and since we didn't have church, I didn't have the normal Sunday morning rush.

So I decided to spend a little clean up time in my "retreat".  I ended up getting a little side-tracked by an old card kit . . .

but it only took me about 30 minutes to make these 12 cards, and that's one less thing marked off my to do list.

While Eli took his nap, Bayleigh played chess on Dave's computer,

and I went back upstairs to do some more cleaning and organizing.

I managed to get all the chipboard sorted and put away, and my table is now clear to start another project.

I also dumped out a big huge Wal-Mart bag full of misc. embellishments that needed a place to go.  I've got most of them put away in this old fishing tackle container, but I still have a little more to find a place for.  I think I'd better start finding a way to use all of these up.

After Eli woke up from his nap, we all headed outside to play in the snow.  The goal was to build a snowman, but both kids wussed out on me and got their hands wet right off the get go.

While they were busy getting cold and wet . . .

I shovelled the snow off of the west side of the deck.  I'm calling that my exercise for the day!

Soup and hot chocolate were the nutrients of choice when we finished up outside, and it sure did hit the spot!

  1. Interesting to see how much effort you put in crafts. Do the kids also love creating things?

    I'm tired of snow, but I love every single snow shot you have there, but also love the shot of Bayleigh playing chess on the computer.

  2. lol . . . The kids LOVE getting messy, which seems to go right along with creating. We're quite a messy group. ;)

    And I'm COMPLETELY sick of the snow, although this one didn't bother me quite so much, because I know that Spring is just around the corner . . . or at least I'm hoping it is!
