June 13, 2010

Today I'm thankful for sun, sand and swimming.

We spent late afternoon at the beach.

But first I attempted to teach Sunday School with Eli at his worst.  It didn't go so well, but at least Bayleigh said her memory verse without any problems.

Dave had today off, and while the kids and I were at church, he went over the newly leveled ground with the brush hog, and then with the disk.  The next day he has off, he'll probably hook onto the rock rake again and we'll see how many rocks we can drag out of the yard.

Eli gets so absorbed in some things!  He's a very focused kid and I wish some of his focus would rub off on me.  I've been struggling with mine since April.  Some days I think he's a little TOO focused, though.

After Eli finished his nap and Dave finished up with the disking, we all headed to the beach to cool off.  It's been stifling hot all day!

The forecast is calling for rain the next few days, and I'm hoping some of it heads this way.

I'm going to attempt to get back to some type of schedule in the morning, so I'm off to bed early!

  1. Eli does indeed look very focused in your third photo. Hope you guys had fun at the beach!

  2. Jealous of your weather and your photos reflect it perfectly. You even got to go swimming, wow!

You should not be hard on yourself about the focus thing, because I think your life is so busy that it would be difficult for any human to be able to focus.

    Have a nice day!

  3. Joel . . . we had a great time! Thanks.

    M. ~ Yesterday had to be the hottest day we've had so far. The heat really isn't that bad, but the humidity is like wearing a warm blanket around with you everywhere. In regards to my focus; I think I just need to squeeze in a little more nap time during the day. lol

  4. Well, if a nap is the solution, then you have to find sometime for that. Lack of sleep is not good for your health.
