April 4, 2010

Today I'm thankful for Jesus Christ and the sacrifices he made for you and I.  So much can be said, but there are no words that can convey my gratitude.  It goes so much deeper than mere words.

I was up early today, to make sure the Easter Bunny had taken care of all his duties, and the kids unwrapped their Easter baskets from Dave's parents.

Bayleigh even read her card (and Eli's) out loud for us.

Then it was on to the egg hunting.  (I hope we got them all, so we're not shooting them out from the lawn mower on our first mowing of the year.)

My forsythia is looking magnificent (if I DO say so myself), and I just recently found out that you can prune and shape them just about any way you wish!  Ahh the possibilities!

Then it was off to Sunday School.  The kids were all excited and it was hard to keep their attention.

Maybe I need to do something to liven it up a bit for them.  Of course, Eli is happy just so long as he has a pair of scissors in his hands.  So maybe the key is just finding out a way to make things fun for the older kids.

After church, we were invited down to the neighbors for Easter dinner.  It's nice that we are all so close and we can share the holidays with each other.  Next year, it will probably be my turn to hostess.

After we crammed ourselves full of food and dessert, Colette took the kids and I for a drive down to the creek, to see if we could spot any wildlife.  Unfortunately the first bit of wildlife we came upon was a Water Moccasin.  Needless to say, we steered clear of that section of the creek.

We moved on up to the "falls" and the kids splashed around for a little while.

It's such a beautiful and peaceful place,

and I'm a sucker for water falls.

I'd say we ate enough chocolate today, to make us all sick; but strangely enough I'm not feeling bad at all.  Probably due to the fact that I eat chocolate more than the average person.  I've built up an immunity to it's side effects.  lol

I hope you all have had a beautiful and grace filled Easter.

M.  ~ This one's for you!

Have a nice day!

  1. You seemed to have had an amazing Easter Sunday. Love the card you gave the kids. I could read every word on it.

I'd love to see you take another shot of the waterfall with a slower shutterspeed, to prevent handshake, use a tripod. I'm sure the photos would be amazing.

    Have a nice day!

And great minds think alike . . . I happened to get a few shots with a lower shutter speed. I'll edit this post a bit later and include one of those shots. ;)
