June 24, 2010

Today I'm thankful for close family ties.  I got up early this morning to do my Pilates and get my run in before it got too hot.  I didn't shave any time off this morning, but I kept it at 2.5 miles in 26 minutes.  I'm continuing to work on my form and my pace, but I think it's finally coming around.

My cousin Sharon is having a garage sale this weekend, and invited us up to do a little early shopping.  We don't live that far away, but it doesn't seem like we get together as much as we did when we were kids.  We're going to have to remedy that!  I picked up a few goodies (along with a TREAD MILL), and by the time my mom was done shopping we had the back of the Jeep filled up.

Ryan is going to be delivering the tread mill tomorrow.  I just couldn't pass it up for $50, PLUS it means I have NO excuses not to use it every day.  Rain, heat, snow . . . the only thing that will deter me is if the electricity goes out.  It WILL take some getting used to, and I prefer to run outside, but just in case . . . I've now got a back up!

I shot the two photos on the way home from Ryan and Sharon's house.  The sun setting to the West and the moon rising in the East.  It was a beautiful evening!

  1. You are a better runner than me - I can't stand to run on the treadmill. Keep up the great work!

  2. Shirley . . . I'm not real sure about the treadmill myself! lol I'd MUCH rather have solid ground underfoot. The treadmill is going to be my backup. ;) Thanks so much for the encouragement!
