July 3, 2010

Today I'm thankful that I just made it through the day.  It was another full day of working the garage sale . . .

I didn't have much of my own stuff in here . . .

but from what little I did have, I made about $25.00.  And I got to meet two very fun ladies in the process.  The two women that actually had all the stuff were a lot of fun and we had several laughs over the past two days.

My mom called a lady from a local consignment store, after we shut down for the day, and she came right out and picked all the leftovers up.  I REALLY like that this lady does this for us, every time we have a garage sale.  It saves us all a lot of work, and space . . . AND it makes her a little money on the side in her shop.  I'd say it's a win, win situation.

After we wrapped things up with the garage sale, I walked 1.27 miles on the treadmill to loosen up my sore muscles from yesterday's workout.  I normally don't work out on the weekends, but this month, I think I'm going to make an exception.  I need to keep loosened up for all the running I'll be continuing throughout the month.

After I showered and bathed the kids, we all headed out to watch the fireworks show below the dam.

This is the first year I've really TRIED to get photos of the fireworks, and I got a little carried away.  (I took 105 photos of the fireworks show.  lol)  Overall, I think they turned out pretty well, since I shot free hand.  (I'm just too lazy to drag my tripod around with me . . .)  I shot in manual mode with an ISO of 200, dialed all the way down to BULB, with an aperture setting of 8.0.  Maybe someday I'll figure out how all this works.  But for me . . . the trial and error are just part of the fun of learning.  I'd be positively DANGEROUS if I actually knew what I was doing.

I've been up for WAY too long, and my bed is calling.  So I'm logging off for tonight (or I guess I should say this morning . . .)

Hope you all have a fun and safe 4th of July weekend!
